Coronavirus – Switzerland – In Switzerland and Liechtenstein, 1894 new coronavirus infections were reported to the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) within 24 hours on Wednesday. In addition, the BAG registered five new official channels and 63 hospital admissions.

For every 100,000 inhabitants, 307.56 laboratory-confirmed coronavirus infections were reported in the last two weeks. The reproduction number R, which indicates the average number of people infected by an infected person, was 0.82 on September 10th.

The utilization of the intensive care units in the hospitals is currently 75.7 percent. 26.9 percent of the available beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients.

A total of 9,696,300 vaccine doses had been delivered to the cantons and Liechtenstein by Sunday evening. This means that 10,236,498 cans were dispensed. 53.88 percent of the population are already fully vaccinated. So far, 6’069’782 have been issued certificates for fully vaccinated persons.

In the last 24 hours, 39,096 new corona tests were reported to the BAG. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 10,540,033 tests for Sars-CoV-2, the causative agent of the respiratory disease Covid-19, have been carried out in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, according to the FOPH. There were a total of 830,251 work-confirmed cases of infection with the coronavirus.

32,470 people have so far been treated in hospital for Covid 19 disease. The number of cases in connection with a Covid 19 disease is believed to be 10,643.

Based on the contact tracing information from the BAG, 13,874 people in isolation and 14,822 people in quarantine. No people who had returned from a risk country met in quarantine.
