About twenty Clae children from the Maurice Becanne school in Toulouse implemented several civic actions with the activity team, in particular to help children in Ukraine. President Macron encouraged them in their project.
They are about twenty pupils from 8 to 10 years old, from the Clae of the Maurice Becanne elementary school who give a civic lesson. Each year, the animation team organizes initiatives in connection with the Educational Project of the Territory (PEDT) of the city. “At the beginning of 2021, after the confinements, I therefore set up meditation workshops with these children, explains Dorianne Lavergne, facilitator. Gradually, I felt in them a listening ear, solidarity and the desire to help others. It was at this time that the collective “Messagers du Cœur” Toulousains” was born”.
At first, several of them performed by going to precarious or fragile people (homeless people, seniors) in the neighborhood by offering them a little paper heart, a drawing, etc. our gesture, that they were a little apprehensive at the start”, testifies Jeanne, ten years old.
In early 2022, Alyssa, 10, offers to help abandoned animals by supporting associations (Les p’tits O’Malley and ArkWild). “For our collection (food, toys), we went to the merchants, we learned to discuss with them, assures Alyssa, Auréline and Helena, 10 years old. We put up posters, distributed leaflets in mailboxes. In one week, our fundraising was substantial”.

To accompany their actions, these Messengers of the Toulouse Heart choose a logo and a slogan: A world of love, peace and solidarity. But the strongest mission for these young messengers is the conflict in Ukraine: “Seeing the images of war and these innocent children under the bombs, we must do something, assures Isaac, 10 years old. We are currently looking for associations to know the needs and support the distribution”. “We are launching an appeal to raise awareness of other schools beyond the neighborhood to collect donations, continue Mariam, 10 years old.
