Austria’s national fistball team succeeded in the Nations Cup in Schneverdingen (Germany) with preliminary round victories against Belgium, Switzerland and Italy a sovereign start.

This means that coach Martin Weiß ‘team can plan for the semi-finals even before the final games against Denmark and Germany.

As the only team without a loss of a set, the Austrians can look forward to a flawless record after the first day of the preliminary round and the championship lead in front of the Germans with the same number of points. Both teams are guaranteed a place in the semi-finals. After strong performances against Belgium, Switzerland and Italy, Austria had to accept only 31 counterpoints in six games played.

In this key it should continue in the game against outsiders from Denmark. “We will also play against the Danes with full concentration,” said White, indicating the direction of the march for his team. With a win, the last preliminary round match against world champions Germany would also be a showdown for first place in the preliminary round.

The game against Denmark starts at 10:45 a.m., followed by the duel with Germany at 12:15 p.m. The semi-finals are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (1st preliminary round – 4th preliminary round) and 4:30 p.m. (2nd preliminary round – 3rd preliminary round).
