Prague – Some healed supports are returning to the Czech national football team for the October World Cup qualification matches. Back in the nomination is also the striker Patrik Schick, who was missing in September due to a disciplinary punishment. After a long time, the defender Filip Novák is in the choice. Coach Jaroslav Šilhavý has so far called 22 players and further nominated one striker. He announced this at today’s press conference.
In contrast to the September rally, healed defenders Jan Bořil and Ondřej Čelůstka and midfielders Lukáš Masopust and Petr Ševčík are returning. On the contrary, the injured wing Jakub Jankto dropped out. There is no complete novice in the nomination.
“It was such a calamity in September that for health and other reasons we could not count on more than 20 players. Now the situation was more favorable, it was much better, although there are still quite a few players outside. We still have matches in clubs waiting for the meeting, so I believe that all the nominated boys will be ready for this meeting, “said Šilhavý.
“We missed goals in September, even though we got into chances. With the players returning after the injury, led by Patrik Schick, we wanted to have a stronger offensive. We want to move to second place in the group. In both the match against Wales and against Belarus, we have to think about winning, “added the coach.
The Czech team will welcome Wales in Eden, Prague, on October 8, and three days later will play against Belarus. Adhere to sanctions from the European Union and the ban on flights to Belarus coincide to take place on neutral ground in Kazan, Russia.
The national team is in second place in qualifying group E after five of eight matches with seven bodies, the third Wales has the same points and a match for good. The undefeated Belgium is heading straight ahead, with the teams in second place waiting for the playoffs. It will feature the other two best winners of the Group of Nations, who will not succeed in the qualification. The Czechs are almost certain that they would eventually occupy one of these two places.
Long-term marodi from Slavia defender David Hovorka and midfielder Lukáš Provod and their club support goalkeeper Ondřej Kolář are still missing. Another player of the Czech champion, stopper Ondřej Kúdela, is among the substitutes.
“It’s difficult, Ondra hasn’t played for a long time now. He hasn’t played yet. Slavia is still playing the derby and the cup match, that’s why Ondra is among the substitutes. .
