She was in tears Jean-Jaures metro station, In Toulouse. This young 25 year old woman had just found out that his pockets had been picked up and that son iPhone 12 had been stolen. But his reflex made it possible to transform the story into a happy ending.
CCTV catches them in action
Wednesday 1uh February 2023, around 9 p.m., Matabiau station. The operators of CCTV of the City locate the merry-go-round of two 16 year old teenagers. They pick the pockets of a 19-year-old woman and he steal his wallet. The transport police are sent to the scene.
Like Tisséo, the TSDTC (Departmental Service for Securing Public Transport) knows the two wags well. “Let’s say that they don’t often pay their ticket,” euphemizes a police source. But when the agents arrived, they had already moved.
“Please give me back my phone”
And it’s finally a metro station further, at the height of Jean Jaurès, that they are seen and apprehended. On them are the victim’s wallet, without the 80 euros in cash that it contained. But also a cell phone. An Iphone 12 whose provenance they cannot justify.
It is then that the unusual scene occurs. A retained notification and a SMS, alternate form, appears on the screen: “Please give me back my mobile phone”. The crying victim has found another device to contact his thieves! Healthy reflex.
Betrayed by an SMS
The famous Iphone 12 could be returned to its legitimate owner who filed a complaint, like his comrade in misfortune. The suspected thieves were brought back to the police station and represented in jail. Betrayed by an SMS.
