Striker Selen Altunkulak leaves Rodez for Toulouse
At Raf since 2020, the 25-year-old Franco-Turkish was one of the executives during the rise in D1, the last season.
First of the winter transfer window on the Rafettes side. On Monday, Toulouse formalized the arrival of Selen Altunkulak in its ranks. The 25-year-old striker joined Rodez in the summer of 2020 for a first season in blood and or largely truncated by the Covid-19 and its restrictions.
In two and a half seasons, the Franco-Turkish player has played 35 games in the Raf jersey, including 30 in the league and five in the Coupe de France. In an offensive and very comfortable Ruthenian formation in group B of D2, Selen Altunkulak was an important player in the return to the blood elite and or at the end of the 2021-2022 season. She found the back of the net seven times in the league and once in the Coupe de France. A competition that the Aveyronnaises savored, until falling in the quarter-finals against Yzeure (D2, 0-1).
But since the rise, the striker has had very little playing time. She has only been on the pitch for 109 minutes in six of the twelve games played by Rodez.
The previous season, the native of Valence had started fifteen times out of the eighteen D2 matches she played. While it has only been once since September: on the second day, on the PSG pitch.
While they attacked the return phase, the Ruthénoises are struggling to gain points on the D1 pitches. They are currently last in the standings, tied on points with Soyaux (5). And it is another team that is fighting to maintain itself that Selen Altunkulak joins. Indeed, after eleven days, Toulouse advanced to the penultimate place of group B of D2, won only two duels and drew a match.
The task of the new Toulousaine does not look easy, because as part of the overhaul of the women’s championship, the last six teams of each group will go down in the future D3. But Altunkulak has already begun to prove herself: for her first match with the colors of the TFC, on January 22 in the league, she offered victory (1-3) to her teammates with a hat-trick, in Nîmes.
