Tuscan oil, APOT Siena protagonist at Pitti Taste
APOT, the Tuscan Olive Producers Association, Siena section, will be the protagonist of the 6th edition of Pitti Taste from 4 to 6 February, the Pitti Immagine salon organized in the scenic setting of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence and dedicated to the excellence of Italian taste.
APOT, which has over 3000 olive growers throughout Tuscany, will be present through the Siena section with its own stand located in the central pavilion on the ground floor (Q14), where it will be possible to get to know and taste a fine selection of oils from the Province of Siena . The following oil producing companies are members of the Association: Soc. Agricola La Crocetta Ss, Dievole Terme, Bagnassorra di Fanciulli SS Agricultural Company, Orgolio della Poderina and Il Borro.

On the occasion of Fuori di Taste, APOT will host the event “rEVOlution: Excellence and differences of Tuscan oils, compared and tasted!”, a meeting to discuss the benefits and characteristics of Tuscan green gold, in a prestigious location in the historic center of the city.
The event will be held in the setting of Il Borro Tuscan Bistro in Florence, Friday 3 February, from 18:00 to 20:00, with the participation of important personalities of the sector to build together, during the evening, a story of multiple gazes with a single great protagonist: the EVO oil Toscana IGP and Terre di Siena DOP.
There will be Gianluca Cavicchioli – director of the Apot section of Siena and director of the Provincial Farmers Union of Siena, Luigi Fanciulli – president of the PDO Terre di Siena, Maddalena Fossati – director of La Cucina Italiana, Angelica Amodei – journalist and science communicator, Vittoria Ferragamo – special projects manager of Il Borro and Andrea Campani, executive chef of Il Borro Tuscan Bistro. The evening will continue with a tasting of oils selected by APOT and matching finger food, curated by the renowned executive chef Andrea Campani of Il Borro.
On the occasion of the event, some works by Giacomo Bretzel, renowned Italian photographer and oil producer in the Pisan hills of Montemagno will be exhibited. Taken from the exhibition “Montemagno a paradise under the ashes”: 20 images taken on analogue film, which tell the artist’s vision of Montemagno, a village and its countryside in the roughest Tuscany, a place very dear to the photographer of Tuscan origins and Slovenian, where he spent his childhood and where with his family he created one of the great crus of extra virgin olive oil, the quintessence of the ages.
