To your aprons! the Toulouse Rotary Club organize a cooking workshop around truffle with the great Michelin-starred chef from Toulouse Stephane Tournie at the Atelier des Chefs, the March 22, 2023 at 5 p.m.. The goal? Raise 6,000 euros for the purchase of two helmets virtual reality for sick children.
Why virtual reality?
The virtual reality is an escape for young patients. “The films shown allow children to escape during injections, nutrients, and help reduce stress,” explains the Rotary Club of Toulouse.
Playful, they assume the quality of life in the hospital for seriously ill patients, in particular “they allow cultural inclusion, assume the relationship treated / caregivers”. And the benefits are many.
It is a Toulouse company managed by Benjamin-Alexandre Larroque, Torino Street, which will define the headsets for children and the programs dedicated to the care pathway. They will then be available at the Purpan hospital for young patients.
“It was in 2017 that he began to introduce virtual reality in a care context with Doctor Suc (children’s hospital, President of the l’enfantDo association, specializing in the fight against pain). Its program is deployed to date in Toulouse, Auch, Castres, Foix…”
