The regulars of Japanese garden in Toulouse will have to be patient. This green space, located in the heart of the Compans-Caffarelli park, has effectively closed its doors this Tuesday, January 31 “due to maintenance work”announces the town hall.
This work will specifically concern the basin of the Pagoda. They will last a little over a week. The Japanese Garden will indeed not be accessible to the public until next Friday, February 10. It will then reopen daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A real haven of peace in the heart of Toulouse
You will therefore be able to enjoy this haven of peace again next week. As a reminder, the Japanese Garden was created in 1981 at the request of former mayor Pierre Baudis. He is inspired by the gardens of Kyoto, built between the 14th and 16th centuries.
We thus find within this green space of 7000 m2, a tea pavilion, a dry garden with a Crane island, a Turtle island and nine rocks, a lake, a planted garden composed of a dry waterfall, Japanese steps, a lantern, a red bridge, but also a Mount Fuji.
The Compans-Caffarelli park remains open
Throughout the time this Toulouse green space is closed, the Compans-Caffarelli park remains open at the usual times in winter. The Japanese Garden actually represents only a part of this park with a total area of ten hectares.
It will therefore always be possible for local residents, students or employees of nearby companies to take a break or recharge their batteries in this green space located in the Compans-Caffarelli business district in Toulouse.
