Officials and employers from the Republic of Moldova want to learn from Vaslui County how to attract funds from Brussels.

As the European pre-accession funds for the Republic of Moldova will be launched in the next period, the neighbors across the Prut are extremely interested in specializing in project implementation. It is not excluded that some officials do training internships in Vaslui and that Moldovan-Romanian project teams are established for the absorption of non-reimbursable European projects.
Yesterday, at the Vaslui Business Resource Center, the Intercommunity Development Association EURONEST organized the event “Opportunities and challenges in cross-border cooperation Romania – Republic of Moldova” – Boosting the absorption of European funds
by the Republic of Moldova – EU candidate country, together with Vaslui County.
The event took place in partnership with the Vaslui County Council (CJ) and the Institute for Development and Expertise of Projects from the Republic of Moldova (IDEP Moldova). At the demonstration they gathered approximately
100 representatives of local public authorities, medical units, educational institutions, as well as the business environment from Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
The event focused on promoting cross-border partnerships and examples of good practices between the two states in areas of interest such as administration, education and culture, health, tourism, agriculture and business environment, in order to boost the absorption of European funds.
Dumitru Buzatu, president of CJ Vaslui, said that the relations between the two countries have been cultivated for years at the level of UATs, NGOs and the Government of Romania, and it is very important that this collaboration achieves things for the local communities. , for the inhabitants, for both states.
“It is a remarkable presence at the event, which impresses me as well. I haven’t seen such a full hall in a long time. I think that the substrate of this presence is actually the interest that those present have for the things that we are going to discuss today”Dumitru Buzatu scored.
The representatives of the districts across the Prut claimed that the Republic of Moldova is a candidate country for the EU and from this perspective, there are great opportunities for attracting and implementing European projects.
“We are here today to establish interpersonal partnerships, transformed into inter-institutional partnerships, in order to create Moldovan-Romanian project teams for non-reimbursable European projects. Our goal today is to meet with your counterparts across the Prut, so as to establish contact, to agree, to delegate representatives to do interns, why not, to your counterparts in Vaslui county, to work at the elbow. for projects. Outline the lines of projects that you want to implement in the next period, when we are waiting to launch these pre-accession funds for the Republic of Moldova and ensure together with you the maximum attraction of European funds”said Iurie Calestru, program director at the Institute for Project Development and Expertise in the Republic of Moldova.
