Herisauer Nachrichten – Who will come second?
St.Gallen and Servette lost points and now meet each other
FC St.Gallen expects Geneva Servette to kick off the third quarter of the championship on Saturday. This leads to a duel between fourth and third, both of whom were unable to use their numerical superiority on Sunday.
Football On Sunday, FCSG experienced a setback after a successful start to the year against Basel. Away from the former bottom of the table FC Zurich, the St. Gallen lost, although they were able to play in excess of 70 minutes after an early red card against Krasniqi. But while the Espen also had a numerical advantage against Basel, they came up with several top-class players, but they didn’t create a single top chance against the reigning champions. And in view of Zurich’s two big chances, which Zigi parried miraculously, the victory for FCZ was absolutely fine. This time the green-whites couldn’t hide how much they missed players like von Moos, Latte Lath and Schmidt. The St. Gallen could have used their speed advances and in particular their qualities in one-on-one against the disciplined FCZ. Coach Peter Zeidler is missing another support on Saturday with Jordi Quintillà. The midfield strategist picked up the fourth yellow card shortly before the end, which means he is suspended against Servette. For their part, Geneva experienced a frustrating Sunday like St. Gallen. They took a point against Sion, but with a two-goal lead and a yellow-red card against Sions Cyprien when the score was 2-0 in the first half, that draw must have felt like a defeat for Geneva. If there is a winner on Saturday, he will temporarily take second place and no longer have to worry about the unnecessary point losses from last weekend.
