At the TSV Hartberg there is still a new signing to report in the last few days of the transfer window. Ousmane Diakité moves from leaders Red Bull Salzburg to East Styria, where he immediately joins the bottom of the table. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract with coach Markus Schopp’s team until the summer of 2024.
“We’re very happy that we can now put the central midfielder issue to rest. I’d like to thank FC Red Bull Salzburg and Christoph Freund for making the transfer possible. Ousmane is a very talented player who keeps coming up with insights from the track He is motivated and ready for a new start and we are convinced that he will help us immediately,” explains Managing Director Erich Korherr.
Ejupi and Kofler leave the club
Diakité moved to Salzburg in the summer of 2018 and initially played for the cooperation club FC Liefering in the second division. Loans to SCR Altach and Switzerland to FC St. Gallen followed before the midfielder returned to his regular club in January last year.
Diakité never made a competitive appearance for the series champions – also due to heavy attacks. In Hartberg he finally wants to get started in the upper house: “I am very happy to become a Hartberg player and I would like to present myself to the club and the chairman for this opportunity. I will do my best to help the club. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and the joy it brings to its fans. I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and to continuing to achieve great things together with them.” Coach Schopp is also hoping for a lot from his new signing: “Ousmane is an insane potential player who will definitely enrich us with his qualities on our way. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Hartberger also announced the termination of the contract with Albert Ejupi, who had only moved to Austria from the Swedish club Helsingborgs IF last summer. Defender Thomas Kofler also leaves bottom of the table after a year and a half and joins the Tyrolean lower house club SC Imst.
