successor to Ernst Beneder
In his offices in Mirabell Palace, Mayor Harald Preuner sworn in the new chairman of the Salzburg design advisory board, Dominik Bückers, and three new members. Bückers succeeds Ernst Beneder, who is leaving the board of his own volition after six years (four and a half as chairman).
Bückers is co-owner of the Vulkan landscape architecture studio in Zurich and Munich. According to the official report, it focuses on the importance of public space. In terms of the desired densification and inner development in the city of Salzburg as well as the climate adaptation strategies, the open spaces will become increasingly important. In addition, innovative approaches can be expected from him.
Three more new members
Also new to the advisory board Nils Buschmann. He founded the “ROBERTNEUNTM” office with partners. He was shaped by the period of upheaval in Berlin in the 1990s: repurposing the existing with limited resources, provisionally appropriating urban spaces and perceiving them in all their complexity. This has resulted in competence for expansion and supplementation.
Michael Wolf has been running the “bergmeisterwolf” office with a partner in Brixen since 2007, later also in Rosenheim. There she is a professor for design and space at the Technical University. Wolf is repeatedly involved in decision-making and project assessment in international juries. The intensive research activity of “bergmeisterwolf” represents a valuable supplement for analyses, investigations and experiments. The historical building structure of Salzburg and sustainability through inner development are of great importance to her.
Joseph Saller founded the “heri&salli” office with a partner in Vienna in 2004. It is an architecture, design and urban development studio. The focus is on creating spaces that promote communities. Born in Bischofshofen, he has known the city of Salzburg since childhood. As a substitute member, he brings innovative approaches, local knowledge and practical building experience – including in timber construction – to the advisory board.

Apart from the new chairman Bückers, only Marina Hämmerle is in love with the advisory board. In addition to Ernst Beneder, Peter Haimerl and Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir were eliminated.
