Cospito case, storm over Donzelli and Delmastro: Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office opens file

Sugar Mizzy February 1, 2023

The tension on the Donzelli case rises and it arrives on the table of the Rome prosecutor’s office. An investigation file has been opened in the light of a complaint presented by the Greens MP Angelo Bonelli in relation to the story of the FDI deputy Giovanni Donzelli, who in the courtroom “made public environmental interceptions of the Dap between members of the ‘Ndrangheta and the Camorra with Alfred Cospito“. The complaint assumes the crime of disclosure and use of official secrecy. Opposition to the attack with the Dems who counterattack and ask for his resignation: “We have received confirmation that he has not had access to confidential documents at the Ministry”, says the leader of the Pd Serracchiani. “The revelation comes, by his own admission, from the Hon. Delmastro Delle Vedove, undersecretary of justice with responsibility for the Dap”. Therefore, “there is not only one problem Donzelli who cannot remain a second longer in a delicate role such as Copasir. There is also a case of Delmastro Delle Vedove who cannot stay a second longer at the Ministry”. Calenda also requests his resignation. The ball now passes to the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio who will be at Palazzo Madama for information on everything the Cospito case and on the statements of Giovanni Donzelli (Fdi).

“I did not give him the document, which is not classified, but I reported the information to him (which are not wiretaps but observations), as I would have done with any parliamentarian”, explained the Undersecretary of Justice Andrea Delmastro to Fatto, according to reports from the newspaper in an article.

Donzelli (FdI): “Cospito influencer of the mafia for abolition 41 bis”

“This morning I sent to the public prosecutor of Rome Francesco Lo Voi a complaint requesting the opening of a criminal investigation to verify whether crimes have been committed, starting from article 326 of the penal code, in relation to the declarations made in the courtroom by the honorable Giovanni Donzelli and to the press by the honorable Deputy Minister of Justice Andrea Delmastro Delle Vedove with delegation to the Dap”, declared the national co-spokesman of Green Europe and deputy of Alleanza Verdi and Sinistra Angelo Bonelli.

“Yesterday” – he continued – “the honorable Donzelli made public the precise contents of the conversations between the prisoner Cospito and the ‘Ndrangheta member Francesco Presta, and also between Cospito and the camorrist Francesco Di Maio. Yesterday evening the deputy minister Delmastro admitted that he was the one who gave the information, contained in a confidential report by the Dap, to the honorable Donzelli, information that is not available to parliamentarians”.

“We are faced with facts of unprecedented gravity because the honorable Donzelli is vice president of Copasir and the honorable Delmastro is deputy minister of justice: due to the careless use they have made of this information, they can no longer perform the delicate functions that are been assigned. For this reason, I ask for the resignation of the honorable Donzelli as Copasir and as deputy minister of the honorable Delmastro and I hope that the president Meloni will intervene to protect the institutions that are not owned by anyone but are at the service of the interests of the Italian Republic “. concluded Bonelli.
