By image: The construction of the tram line on Evropska tridda has begun. Traffic is limited
Since Wednesday, February 1, Prague has been dealing with major traffic restrictions on the European avenue. The reason is the construction of a new tram line in Dědina. One lane is closed approximately 600 meters from the intersection with Vlastina Street to the intersection with Za Vokovická Vozovná Street. At the same time, tram service between the Divoká Šárka loop and the Vozovna Vokovice stop is suspended.
The construction of the tram line complicates traffic along Evropska street.

Car traffic is conducted in one lane in the 1+1 mode. The strip in the direction from the center will be the first to be closed until April 15. The work on the European is divided into four stages and will last until October.
In the next stages, the restrictions for car traffic will be reduced to the section from the intersection with Vlastina Street to the intersection with Libocká Street. For about a month from the end of May to the end of June, drivers will have to cope with the 1+1 mode again. Tram traffic would no longer be significantly restricted after April 15.
The trams disappeared from Malá Strana. Workers and excavators took their place
Transport company hl. m of Prague (DPP) advises travelers to the airport to allow at least a half-hour reserve from Wednesday, February 1.
“We recommend that passengers travel to Václav Havel Prague Airport with sufficient time in advance or use alternative routes, as construction work can also affect the flow of public transport. In the case of a trip to the airport by public transport, we therefore recommend using the strengthened bus line 100 from the Zličín metro station,” added Eva Krejčí, Director of Communications at Prague Airport.
According to the original schedule, work on Europa Street was supposed to start in the first year, but was postponed due to the Czech presidency of the Council of the European Union.
