Independent road hauliers have announced a snail operation on the A1 between Dourges and Bapaume this Thursday, February 2, 2023. The prefecture asks motorists and truck drivers to avoid using the motorway in these sectors and to postpone their departure.
The social for independent road hauliers will begin this Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 6 a.m., between the Dourges and Bapaume interchanges in Pas-de-Calais.
According to the regional prefecture, “very strong disturbances” are to be expected “in both directions of traffic” on the A1 motorway between the outskirts of Lille and the outskirts of Bapaume. Or on almost the entire section of motorway that crosses the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais.
Motorists and truck drivers are asked to avoid taking the A1 motorway in these sectors and to postpone their departure.
Press release from the Hauts-de-France prefecture
The demonstrators will occupy two of the three lanes of the A1, effectively slowing traffic to such an extent that the prefecture is asking road users not to take the motorway and to postpone their departure.
Contacted this Wednesday 1uh February 2023 in the evening, the National Federation of Road Transport (FNTR) of Nord Pas-de-Calais was not aware of this event. “It is not an operation that we are undertaking”we say on the side of the union.
Difficult to make known the demands of these independent road hauliers and to know if a link exists with the demonstrations of recent days against the pension reform.
According to our information, the call was launched on social networks via the France TPE Transports group. Created in 2020, the association’s mission is to “defend transport VSEs, represent and structure the defense of the profession”.
In a video posted on Facebook at the beginning of the week, the France TPE Transports group indicates that it is “high time to say stop” and invite “artisans, breeders, farmers, those who can no longer live from their work” to come and stand by their side.
Contacted, the leaders of the group did not answer our questions when we published this article.
Beyond Pas-de-Calais, three similar mobilizations have been announced by the France TPE Transports group in Rennes, Saint-Quentin Fallavier in Isère and Grans in Bouches-du-Rhône.
