The national team player returns home – in a year and a half
NADDERUD (VG) Norway’s WC player Sander Øverjordet (26) has again signed a contract with Haslum. However, he was not seen in the red suit until 2024.
The club confirmed this to VG on Tuesday.
That he doesn’t stay Haslum-plays before next summer, is because he has to complete the agreement with Danish Kolding before he moves home.
Long-term planning is behind him signing for the club already a year and a half before he is ready to play.
– I think it’s good to have the future in place, so I don’t have to think about it any more. That I know what I have to do, so I can plan a little, says Øverjordet to VG.
Despite the fact that he is now linked to a new club, he is clear that it will not affect him in Denmark for the next 18 months.
– I’m not going to think anything of it anyway. I have 100 percent of my head in Kolding. We have to do well there for the last year and a half, so that when it comes here.
Øverjordet has signed a contract that can keep him at the club until 2029. There must be talk of a four-year contract with an option for another year.
The national team player is positive about the project, which is underway at the old club, and wants to contribute to the club’s progress.
– We in Haslum have been down a bit and are down now. So being able to help lift it up, at least do the best we can to lift it up, that motivates me a little extra, he says.
This season has delivered very well in the neighboring country. That must have meant that he had several clubs after him.
– He has had a number of offers both in Denmark and other international leagues. He said that he wanted to come back to Norway when his current contracts with Kolding expire, and has not accepted those offers, says Haslum coach Tom-Eirik Skarpsno.
