Tuesday 31 January 2023, un serious traffic accident took place in the town of Lavalette (Upper Garonne) east of Toulouse.

It was 12:22 p.m. when the firefighters were called to help several injured people on the RD 112, between Beaupuy and Verfeil.

Three vehicles involved

Three vehicles were involved. There were four rescued victims, three of whom were evacuated by the emergency services “in absolute urgency”.

For a reason that remains unknown, a woman who was traveling in her vehicle, in the direction of Verfeil, veered to the left, encroaching on the other lane. She hit, on the side, a first vehicle which came on the opposite lane. It was with a second vehicle that the shock was much more violent.

This second vehicle was hit from the front. On board, a woman, at the wheel, and her nine-year-old daughter, seated in the back.

Mother and daughter evacuated to Toulouse University Hospital

At 1:30 p.m., the assessment was serious since this 9-year-old child was seriously injured. She was transported to the Toulouse University Hospital.

His mother was the subject of an extrication operation. She was also evacuated to the Toulouse University Hospital.

The driver who caused the accident was also treated at the scene.

The cut road

Samu 31, firefighters and gendarmes from the Toulouse Saint-Michel company were still on site after 1:30 p.m.

The road was cut off for 1h30. Around 2 p.m., it’s alternating circulation which was put in place to allow cars to pass while evacuating damaged vehicles.
