Nathalie Nury: “We are staying in Greater Avignon”
More than five hundred people, around thirty personalities were present on Friday January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the village hall to attend the wishes of Nathalie Nury, mayor of the town. A first for the city councilor who began his speech with strong thanks for all those who work on a daily basis, to elected officials and personalities: “Despite the uncertainties about yet another wave of covid, despite the global geopolitical and energy crisis, we wanted you all to receive, finally, to share this traditional moment of wishes.”
A slide show traced the three years of mandate and the actions of the municipality “demonstrate that our municipality is doing well and that good management allows us, despite budgetary constraints, to maintain a strong ambition on our public policies, and to maintain a high level of investment to guarantee the future, the dynamism and the attractiveness of our city!”
Before discussing the 2023 projects, Nathalie Nury returned to the possible transfer, mentioned during the electoral campaign, from the municipality to another agglomeration: “We decided to stay in Greater Avignon because this agglomeration has made a place of choice for Roquemaure”.
Fire station, train station, Camus school…
The 2023 projects fuse: “Our municipality, for years, has not experienced massive investment. Many works will continue throughout the year: the National Boulevard to be completed, a new fire station, and the future is also taking shape with the opening of the right bank which will see the reopening of a station with major works!” Other projects still to be carried out: “Renovation work at the Camus elementary school, project to build a new modern kindergarten, adapted to the handicapped…”
A speech filled with humanity and solidarity: “ Each moment of life is unique, each new year is a promise of joy and discovery.” Nathalie Nury invites the assembly to share the pot of friendship and to approach the remarkable galette des Rois prepared by Christophe Hardy, president of the Confederation of Artisan Bakers of Gard “more than a cake, it is a symbol of very strong support from the municipality for the merchants and craftsmen who contribute to this energy crisis”.
