The three representatives of the social democratic political formations addressed a series of topics of discussion regarding the social and political situation in the Republic of Moldova, the rising prices and tariffs, the inflation that seriously affects the incomes of the population, the impact of the war started by the Russian Federation in Ukraine and how . under these conditions, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova can be supported in order to more easily overcome multiple crises faced by the neighboring country.
During the meeting, the strengthening of the political partnership between the European Social Democratic Party and the Romanian Social Democratic Party was also discussed. After the Forum of local elected officials from the two political formations, there were several intentions of joint infrastructure projects with European and cross-border investments in the localities of the Republic of Moldova.
It was agreed to launch bilateral projects between PSDE and PSD Romania’s local elected officials, as well as to continue training for PSDE mayors on facilitating access to European funds, informs the communications of the political formations.
Ion Sula and Marcel Ciolacu confirmed their interest and availability to further develop the strategic political partnership between the two European social democratic parties, for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
PSDE and PSD Romania have a long-term partnership relationship, which was strengthened by the Collaboration Agreement signed on May 19, 2021, in Bucharest. The two parties are part of the same European and international family: the Party of European Socialists (PES) and the Socialist International.
