Main coach CSKA Vladimir Fedotov said he would not want the Russian Football Union (RFU) to leave UEFA.
The Russian Federation is considering the possibility of moving from UEFA to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), but at the end of December it became known that in 2023 a working group would be created with UEFA and FIFA, which would discuss in more detail the prospects for Russian football.
– We have not heard promising words from the Asian Confederation – what the transition will look like. Thank God, there were no hasty decisions. A working group has been created, all the pros and cons will be weighed. We have always been seen in UEFA and were not detained by this organization, – Fedotov told the correspondent of RB Sport.
FIFA and UEFA have suspended Russian teams and clubs from the meeting in 2022.
The 2022/23 season in Russia will resume with FONBET Russian Cup matches, which will begin on February 22. CSKA will play the ¼ finals of the RPL Path with Krasnodar on the 23rd and 28th. The WORLD RPL season starts on March 3rd. CSKA will play away from Sochi on the 5th. Broadcasts of RPL and Russian Cup matches can be watched on the Match TV federal channel, as well as on the thematic channels of the holding and on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
