The 321 researchers, chosen from 2,222 applications, completed their doctorates around 10 years ago. The president of the European Research Council, Maria Leptin, says that these grants “will support researchers at a crucial point in their careers, reinforcing their independence, strengthening their teams and will help them to establish themselves as leaders in their fields ”.
Research projects will be included in universities and research centers in 21 countries, 18 in the European Union, as well as in the United Kingdom, Norway and Israel.
Within the European Union, Germany is the country that won the most scholarships (62), followed by France (41) and Spain (24).
According to the European Research Council, the scholarships that will now be awarded will allow 1,950 jobs for doctorates, doctoral students and other elements of universities and research centres.
