The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, is the most popular wellness destination in Europe. With plenty of green areas (40%) and over two hundred spas to choose from, the aptly nicknamed “City of a Hundred Towers” is the perfect place to relax.
Thanks to low noise pollution and a huge selection of 336 spas, Berlin is in second place. The city is an ideal wellness destination choice, and it is also an ideal place to visit for all yoga enthusiasts. There are 21 studios to choose from.
Helsinki, Sheffield and Munich are the remaining cities that are the top five wellness destinations. Helsinki has plenty of green areas (43%), while Sheffield has the highest healthcare score (83). In fifth place is Munich, which is mainly due to the low level of noise pollution (21%).
For those who’ve spent wellness closer to home, Liverpool, Leicester and Bristol all feature in the index, proving that UK cities really can be a place to relax and unwind.
Anna McEntee, head of Comparethemarket, commented on the research: “If you’re looking for a wellness holiday – whether in the UK or abroad – it’s important to check you have the right level of travel insurance. This is even more important if you are planning activities such as yoga or other sports.
A typical sports travel insurance should cover unexpected circumstances such as medical expenses, emergency transport and stolen or damaged luggage, but it is always important to check what is covered as it varies between providers.” For more information on Europe’s top wellness destinations, visit: https://www.comparethemarket.com/travel-insurance/content/european-wellness-hotspots/
