Snow: Athens will be “white” in the coming days, Kallianos warns

Sugar Mizzy January 30, 2023

The latest estimates on its course bad weather which was presented to the country from next Friday, the meteorologist and MP of New Democracy announced Yannis Kallianos.

The meteorologist predicts snowfall even at low altitudes in Attica, without, however, expecting heavy snowfall that will resemble the corresponding period of 2022. However, other meteorologists, such as Christina Souzi, estimate that we will not see snow – according to the latest forecasts . models – in Attica.

In his analysis, Yiannis Kallianos typically mentions that the snowfall altitudes in all probability for Attica will be as follows:

– Friday night: Above 600-700 meters
– Friday midnight: Over 500 meters
– Saturday dawn: Above 300-350 meters (marginally in some northern suburbs of Attica)
– Saturday morning: Above 300-350 meters (marginally in some northern suburbs of Attica)
– Saturday noon: Above 400-500 meters

Among other things, he claims that the temperature will indeed drop from Friday with the weather setting becoming wintry.

Read his entire post:

IN ATTICA IT WILL SNOW UP TO THE BOATS… WHICH ARE DECORATED IN THE TAVERNS OF PENDELI!

If one reads on the internet all that has been written in the last few days about the impending “snow”, it will only manage to confuse one’s brain. And this will happen because sometimes he will read that we will have snow from Friday to the boats of Attica, sometimes that we still don’t know what will happen and sometimes that nothing will happen.

So as in real life, so in Meteorology. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

And I explain:

Yes, it will get colder from Friday. Yes we have temporary snowfalls in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Northern Greece during Friday. While, quickly, from Friday night, the weather will become “North Stream” as we say in Meteorology. This means that from midnight on Friday until Saturday night, the following areas will experience snow:

– Pelion
– Sporades
– Evia
– Attica & Boeotia
– North East Aegean Sea
– Cyclades
– Crete

HOWEVER AT WHAT ALTITUDE WILL IT SNOW?

Surely it won’t even snow on the boats! The lowest snowfall altitudes are in areas of Pelion, Boeotia and the Northeast Aegean. About over 200-300 meters.

IN ATTICA IT WILL SNOW UP TO THE BOATS… WHICH ARE DECORATED IN THE TAVERNS OF PENDELI!

I make this purely humorous comment because so much has been written and so much heard. The snowfall altitudes in all probability for Attica will be the following:

– Friday night: Above 600-700 meters
– Friday midnight: Over 500 meters
– Saturday dawn: Above 300-350 meters (marginally in some Northern Suburbs of Attica
– Saturday morning: Above 300-350 meters (marginally in some Northern Suburbs of Attica)
– Saturday noon: Above 400-500 meters

* Caution: Heavy snowfalls that also occur in the mountains of Crete, mainly on Saturday above 600-700 meters.

HEAVY FROST ON SATURDAY MORNING IN THE MOUNTAINS – PENINSULA

Spirit will prevail in the mountains of the country. The temperature will drop to -13 to -14°C in the most mountainous areas of Western Macedonia, to -10°C in the mountainous areas of Central Greece and to -6°C in the mountainous areas of the Peloponnese.

MODELS ARE NOW COLDER AFTER TUESDAY

From next Tuesday February 7 onwards the models are now getting colder. Should we believe them? Shall we go out and talk about it? Are we exposed? I prefer not to talk and do when the time comes.

I prefer not to speak and to inform the citizens of the country in a timely and correct manner.

I insist : MODESTY IS A VIRTUE IN PROGNOSIS

Happy week to all, my dear friends!
