The International Olympic Committee called the proposal of adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak that the sports organization promotes war and liquidation, agreeing to the participation of athletes from Russia in the Olympic Games.

On Monday, Podolyak of Asia commented on a proposal by the Olympic Council (OCA), which intends to develop a quota system to allow athletes from Russia to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This year the OCA took part in athletics competitions in Europe. The IOC welcomed this decision.

The adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine sharply condemned the intention to allow the Russians to the Olympics.

“The IOC is a promoter of war, football and destruction… The IOC is happy to see how it destroys the Russian Federation [Украину]and then offers [России] tribune for advertising genocide and encourages the limitation of murder, – Podolyak wrote on his Twitter. – It’s obvious that [российские] money that buys olympic hypocrisy don’t smell [украинской] blood. Yes, sir [глава МОК Томас] Bach?

The International Olympic Committee responded to this as follows: “The IOC most resolutely rejects this slanderous statement and its representatives.

With criticism of Bach at his evening meeting over the weekend and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We talked to him more than once, and it never happened how he is going to build a sport from war propaganda,” Zelensky said.

“There is no naturalness when such a war is going on.

At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Russia received 71 medals at the Tokyo Olympics, and “45 of them won athletics, which also enters the Central Sports Club of the Russian Army” (CSKA). “The armies that shop are being killed, raped and looted,” the foreign minister said.

Despite the fact that in Russia there are cases when it comes to accidents related to the war in Ukraine.

Earlier, the IOC suggested its readiness to consider the possibility of participation of Russian athletes in a neutral status in international competitions. However, the organization is allowed to impose a number of restrictions. In particular, athletes who “opposed the peaceful IOC” and actively supported the war in Ukraine were not allowed to compete. Admission decisions are made on an individual basis.

“Athletes cannot be prevented from developing in competition just by obtaining their passports,” the Olympic Committee said in a statement.

Russian officials did not like such conditions.

“We still categorically do not meet with broad restrictions, requirements and sanctions that relate to the national resources of our athletes,” Stanislav Pozdnyakov told the Russian Olympic Committee.

State Duma deputy, Olympic champion in speed skating Svetlana Zhurova and permanent suspected the IOC of intent to split the ranks of Russian athletes. “The guys are simply forced to give up the country in this way,” – Zhurov was quoted by Sports.ru.

Most international federations have announced that Russian and Belarusian athletes are not allowed to face the threat of conflicts due to the war in Ukraine.

From the adoption of the ban by several international sports organizations, in particular, the tennis federation, due to the fact that Russian tennis players play in tournaments with a neutral status.

The same decision was made by the International Aquatics Federation and the International Automobile Federation.
