Possible robbery-murder: search for flower boxes
The alleged robbery and murder victim is said to have bought the two balcony flower boxes on January 2nd. According to the police, they were anthracite in color and each one meter long. The two flower boxes have not yet been found. Anyone who can say anything about this or the Iraqi’s missing smartphone or his car should report to the nearest police station.
Victim wanted to sell BMW
So far it is clear that the victim wanted to sell his black BMW X6 and met with the tricks buyer. He is now a suspect – but denies it. There is no trace of the victim. The police and the public prosecutor continue to keep a low profile – also because there are indications that several perpetrators could have been involved in the suspected crime.
Police have been investigating the case since the alleged victim was reported missing by a family member. In the course of the investigation, it turned out that the man wanted to sell his powerful black BMW X6 on Facebook at the end of last year for 17,000 euros – and his disappearance is likely to be related to the sale of the car. “One person has expressed an interest in buying it,” said Marcus Neher, spokesman for the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office, to the APA. Since then there has been no trace of the man.
Interested party for car “urgent suspect”
It is assumed that between January 2nd and 3rd there was a meeting with an interested party. The alleged buyer was then arrested on January 22nd, the BMW was assured. “Due to the circumstances, it is assumed that the man is strongly suspected of having committed a crime. The car could have been taken from the victim by force and the man could have died,” said Neher.
The suspect is not Austrian, but is said to have lived in Salzburg. He is in custody and has not confessed. Because of the evidence relating there is much to suggest that he and the BMW are directly involved in the act, Neher said. Investigations are currently underway on suspicion of aggravated robbery resulting in death.
Mobile switched on briefly on January 15th
The mobile phone of the missing person was still logged in on the night of January 3 in the area of Salzburg’s Untersberg, the municipality of Nußdorf am Haunsberg (Flachgau) and near Maria Plain on the outskirts of Salzburg – then the phone disappeared from the network. However, the iPhone XS Max was switched on again two weeks later, on January 15 at 11:26 a.m., in the Salzburg-Aigen, Elsbethen or Glasenbach area.
The phone is a black iPhone XS Max with a clear case and a magnetic mount inside, and has been missing since January 2nd. Information about the victim’s car – the black BMX X6 with the license plate number S-381 WH – is also requested for the period between January 2, 12:00 p.m. and January 3, 3:00 p.m.
