“Given the post-pandemic situation, uncertainty surrounding the continuation of international events and a weak start to the year, we are pleased with these figures and our growing market share,” stated Rémi Aubin, Sales Director of LunaGroup Charter. “We were able to help our customers at the beginning of the year by establishing air bridges to destinations that were no longer served by other airlines due to the pandemic. With the second quarter, activity in the area of MICE, international sporting events, cruises, etc. increased steadily. The FIFA World Cup in Qatar also brought us many appearances until the end of the year,” he adds.
Chaotic summer activities
In the second half of the year, after two years of the most severe aviation crisis, air travel recovered quickly. This unprecedented increase in traffic followed by a supply chain disruption from ground handling to air traffic controllers and our teams faced major customer frustrations and challenges. “The market has not been able to reach its maximum occupancy rate due to labor shortages. Demand for charter flights could not be satisfied as scheduled airlines were overloaded throughout the summer,” Rémi noted.
The company had an outstanding fourth quarter organizing corporate events in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the US. “I’m very proud of our team who have done incredible things on every project to support our customers worldwide and give them the best possible experience. Whether it’s in Doha, Singapore, Houston, Dammam, Cardiff, Paris, etc., our staff have always been there on the ground and in the air, ensuring our passengers have the best possible travel experience,” concludes Rémi.
What to expect for 2023?
LunaGroup Charter accelerates its expansion from the French office, with new offices in London, Geneva and Dubai. “We continue to steer our growth from Paris under the leadership of Rémi Aubin. Our strategy is to replicate the success of LunaJets, our private jet charter company. It is clear that we see tremendous opportunities in these businesses,” comments Alain Leboursier, Managing Director of the Group. At the end of the first quarter, the company will move its Paris address to larger offices in the “Triangle d’Or”.
