Investing in activities increases care-poor years
People with dementia feel better by being active and staying in contact with others. It proves the quality of life and contributes to health. That is one of the goals of the National Dementia Strategy 2021-2030. Julie Meerveld, advocacy manager, calls on municipalities: “Invest in meeting places with activities for people with dementia. Choose positive activities that match what people with dementia can do. That’s crucial. It offers structure during the week and breaks through isolation and keeps you fit. Increased you increase the number of care-free years and postpone the moment that extra care is needed.”

In the online magazine there are many good examples from practice. The inspiration guide includes ‘best practices’ and striking examples from practice.
