Great indoor soccer in Eschen – Liechtenstein

Sugar Mizzy January 30, 2023

ESCHEN – In the final of the 32nd Roger Zech Memorial Indoor Tournament in Eschen, the “Wandbilder Pobor” defeated the “Sunday Kicker’s” 2-0. FC Bühler for the women and FC Ruggell for the seniors secure the other title. In the tournament of the Special Olympics teams, local hero “SOLie-Kickers” emerged as the tournament winner.

“Sunday Kicker’s” (Captain Kerem Demirbas, Selcuk Bicer, Kadir Ipek, Cetin Yksel, Okan Eris, Fatih and Burak Ok, Muhi, Selim, Erhut, Raphael and Muhammed Dursun) convinced the footballers, presented themselves as very defensive in the final group stable and didn’t concede a goal in five games. The second finalist, “Wandbilder Pobor” (coach Vjekoslav Pobor with Agan Hamzi, Ramon Bearth & Co.), was about to make it to the final, but after trailing 0:2 against “Heeb Interior Design” (Pirmin Marxer, Florian, Simon , Gianni and Lukuas Heeb, Dominik Lampert, Christoph and Jannik Marquart, Robin Eugster and David Lüchinger, Werdenberg turned the game around and won 3-2 goals.
In the final, Burak Ok failed with a shot at the post (2nd), but then “Wandbilder Pobor” from Werdenberg took the initiative. Agan Hamzi scored a brace to lead 2-0 (3rd/5th) and initiated the well-known tournament victory, especially since a player from the “Sunday Kicker’s” was thrown off the pitch after heavy criticism (6th) and decimated his team. didn’t miss a goal, but Okan Eris only hit the post (8′); the expected tournament victory of «Wandbilder Pobor» was a fact.

Progressive run of the SOLie Kickers

In the field of six Special Olympics teams, the “SOLie Kickers” team (Alex Bucher, Alex Keller, Arben Krasniqi, Andreas Meile, Anderson Da Silva, Henrique Baptista, Noah Büchel, Jose Seiler and Michel Kindle) trained by Ralph Vogt impressed with one increase run. Since the competition also messed up, it was just enough to reach the finals behind the strong team from Special Olympics Vorarlberg 1. In the final, the Liechtensteiner wanted the win more. Anderson Da Silva defeated the Vorarlberg goalkeeper with a lot of determination to make it 1-0 (2nd). In particular, Joel Seiler to 2:0 (5th) and Da Silva fixed the 3:0 final score (7th), whereby the tournament victory went to the Liechtenstein team for the first time.

Senior Indoor Masters and Ruggell

The senior field impressed on Saturday evening with a lot of footballing finesse and excitement, because seven of the eleven games resulted in an orgy of ties. In the final, too, the match between FC Ruggell Ü30 and “Prestoleros” (Thyssen Krupp senior team) was a 1-1 draw after extra time: Mirco Macri (4th) and Radu Mailat with a free kick (8th) scored the goals. In the penalty shootout, FC Ruggell kept the upper hand with 4:3 goals.

FC Bühler surprisingly wins

In the women’s final, there is still no winner: FC Staad and FC Bühler showed an animated final: Sina Eichrodt scored the 0-1 lead (7th), but Selin Wehrle managed to break the 1 :1 equalizer for Staad (8th). The game remained open in extra time, no further goals were scored, which is why a penalty shoot-out was necessary, which went to FC Bühler with a 1:3 goal. The FC Triesen team, “FC Früündinna”, had to settle for third place.

Youth teams from three countries

Illustrate the field of participants in the E and D juniors. USV Eschen/Mauren Ea (coach Heiko Schmid) defeated FC Staad E 2-1 after extra time in the final of the E-Juniors (1st strength class). After regular time, the game was drawn 1-1 after goals by Florian Angele (7th) and Sinan Akkir (2nd), with the people from the Lower Rhine Valley getting closer to victory. In extra time, the USV closed and finally Liam Stocklasa fixed the 2-1 winning goal with a long-range shot in extra time (13th).

In the E-Juniors of the 2nd strength class, there was a duel between two Hohenems teams: The U11b defeated the slightly younger team of VfB Hohenems U10a with 1:2 goals. In the D-Juniors, the LFV team U13 Liechtenstein showed a convincing performance in the round robin, but the conviction was missing in the final, outsider SCR Altach, who showed determination, fixed a 3:0 victory. Vincent Fleisch (3rd) and David Schieder with a double (5th/8th) provided the goals. The Liechtenstein ensemble had won 3-0 in the round robin.
