Exclusion of Russia from the Olympics: Poland shows an example
Andrzej Kraśnicki, president of the Polish Olympic Committee, made a statement in which he writes: “Until the subsequent barbaric war in the Ukrainian, American, Russian and Belarusian athletes should not take part in international competitions – including the Olympic Games. The Polish Olympic Committee was, is and will be in solidarity with Ukraine, the Ukrainian nation and athletes. Our position is a position with the positions of Poland and the Polish authorities. “The decision of the International Olympic Committee to admit these areas to the sport category – taking into account the standards by the IOC.
This last sentence is important, because the use of it unambiguously means that the POC did not contribute to it and did not contribute to it. The choice of the chief’s loyalty to the IOC Thomas Bach (a proven friend of Vladimir Putin) or the support of the Polish, not only Olympic, internal state, the POC chooses the national interest, and then using the help of state authorities to have another contact).

This decision could be expected, because in the rulers of the Olympics from the day they sent signals that they took part in Russia and Belarus at the start in Paris. When people began to convert to Ukraine a year ago, they recommended excluding Russians and Belarusians for attention, but today they think differently.
Ukraine’s position is clear. President Volodymyr Zelensky said: – I addressed the list to the presidents of the performance of the international sports federation. The call is simple and fair: to respond to the decision of the International Olympic Committee, which nevertheless wants sport to the propaganda of the influence of the Member States.
According to the president of Ukraine, if Russian athletes take part in international competitions, it is only the amount of time before they start to justify Russian aggression and symbols of terror. “And also just a matter of time when the Kremlin started going to the International Olympic Committee’s non-flexibility principle to say that the world is allegedly in favor of making concessions to the aggressor,” Zelensky said.
The General Assembly of the National Olympic Games of Ukraine on its extraordinary application will consider the application of a possible boycott of the 2024 Games, if Russian and Belarusian athletes return to the sports arenas before Russia terminates the club in Ukraine.
It is worth remembering that in many sports Russians do not have to come back because they have never been kicked out.
Let’s hope
The Polish Olympic Committee is the first to be in position after the IOC suggested that athletes from Russia and Belarus could compete in Paris without their national symbols, flag or anthem, as was the case at the last summer and winter games in consequences of the doping scandal in Sochi and which did not prevent numerous manifestations of Russianness by witnesses and witnesses.
We need help so that all those countries that, on Putin’s side, are arming Ukraine and are escaping from part of this country will go with Poland’s help. Ukraine with its boycott threat should not be left alone.
Boycott is a terrible word in the Olympics, meaning an accident for an event, wasting their success, taking away hope and trauma for years. Everyone who survived the boycott by the “camp of peace and socialism” of the Games in Los Angeles (1984) remembers this. It’s all about Polish people who didn’t go to California. You’re still in them today.
So far, there are no European countries – leaders of the anti-Putin coalition. The voice of the United States is not heard (contrary to understanding in the US Olympic Committee of Bach) and Great Britain, the very anti-Putin Scandinavia is silent. You have to influence that this silence has been invisible for a long time, that even the best sports federations will persevere in your anti-Putin scrutiny.
Only those who caused this tragedy and support it, no one else, have to pay for the war and genocide in Ukraine. Therefore, a united front of the West should be adopted on this issue.
The organizers of the 2024 Games (France and Paris) and the owners of this spectacle (IOC) allow a clear signal: the Games can be with Russia and Belarus, but without the civilized world, or without Russia and Belarus, but with us. Only such a position will be a real support for Ukraine at the Olympic level.
For now, there are bad words coming from the French, but to be honest, suspicious. Any president Emmanuel Macron, as well as the mayor of the French capital Anne Hidalgo, say that it is the IOC, not politicians, who can compete in the Games. The mayor even congratulated the rulers of Olympism by admitting Russia and Belarusians to the Games.
Such a position is easy to understand: thanks to the investment in the Games, it has already been incurred, they have an impact on the influence of France and its culture in the world. The example for the French are the English, who act similarly in connection with the 2012 Games in London.
Split sentences
The anti-Russian Olympic front needs to be done quickly, the qualifiers for the Paris Games are already taking place in some sports, and will start soon in others. The only Polish member of the IOC, former cyclist Maja Włoszczowska, says in relation to “Przegląd Sportowy” that opinions on Russia in this body are divided, but with the majority of admission supporters to allow her to the Olympics.
As you can see, this case is the most effective for Olympism after observing the Cold War. will arise like this war for the world.
