DIJON: Kévin Hamandia is the new president of the Junior Economic Chamber

Sugar Mizzy January 30, 2023

Elected at the end of last year, Kévin Hamandia presented the wishes of the Young Economic Chamber of Dijon,

New President, New Board, New projects for the Junior Economic Chamber of Dijon which revived the tradition of vows.

It is a tradition for the 135 Young French Economic Chambers: each year a new member chairs the local association. The transmission and the collective are part of the DNA of the Junior Economic Chamber (JCE) which among its many missions on the territory allows its members to be trained in taking responsibility and civic engagement. The structure of Dijon founded in 1957, and which in nearly 70 years has seen hundreds of Dijonnaises and Dijonnais make a passage through its ranks, is no exception to the rule.

In 2023, Kévin Hamandia was elected president during the annual election held at the end of the year within the Departmental Council of the Côte d’Or. At 31, he has already taken on responsibilities within the association by holding the position of vice-president dedicated to partners. He was also co-director of the “Retour aux Urnes” action, which was one of the last to fight against abstention, in particular among the youngest. This is not his first commitment to the Dijon association, since he held the position of president of the LEO Club Dijon Phénix (Lion’s Club dedicated to those under 30) for 2 years, where he notably launched the Cause Commune action which aimed during confinement to feed students in precarious situations on campus through the distribution of meals prepared by Dijon restaurants deprived of activity.

The new president took advantage of the return of the traditional vows ceremony of the Junior Economic Chamber of Dijon this week to present his office to the many guests present, including some forty members of the association, as well as elected officials from the city of Dijon, its historical partner. The team that will support her is made up of Elise Moreau as treasurer, Stéphane Andriambo as secretary, Chloé Lefevre as vice-president of communications, and Marie Barbier as past president.

He also produced part of the roadmap that will animate the mandate of his office. The year 2023 will see the Dijon JCE carry out an action in favor of hair donation for the benefit of the well-being of people with cancer, or the organization of sessions of a serious game on the theme of economic and sustainable development. , developed by its volunteers. Named “Capt’n ODD”, in reference to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) supported by the UN by 2030, its purpose is to raise awareness and lead as many people as possible towards a greener economy and more sustainable by “playing collectively”.

In addition to the implementation of projects of general interest and actions to have a positive impact on the territory. The second pillar of the Junior Economic Chamber is training. Thus, like the one organized last November on public speaking, the Dijon JCE will offer new free training courses open to all throughout the year, on different themes and skills, by welcoming national trainers of the Junior French Economic Chamber networks, with 70 years of experience in the field.

In Dijon, as everywhere in France, the Junior Economic Chamber brings together young people aged 18 to 40, from all walks of life and activities: private sector employees, civil servants, liberal professions, industrialists, executives, engineers, entrepreneurs, self-employed…. It offers its members the opportunity to acquire new skills by allowing them to take on subjects and territorial issues, to test themselves, to try, to succeed, to fail, to take on associative responsibilities to build themselves and finally transpose this learning into a professional, public, personal life… by mobilizing them through the creation of impactful actions and by training them in civic leadership. Among the achievements of the Junior Economic Chamber are: the birth in France of emergency service numbers (1984), the Universal Day of the Rights of the Child (initiated in 1989) or the installation of containers to recycle glass (1975).

If you are under 40 and are tempted by the JCE adventure, or if as a company you want to support its approach by becoming one of its partners, only one address: [email protected]
