Deurne murder investigation: female torso found not yet identified, victim was murdered (Deurne)
The body that was found on Friday evening in a basement of an apartment building on Bisschoppenhoflaan in Deurne has not yet led to an identity. The investigators provisionally assume that they were killed near the basement.
In a suitcase in one of the basements of an apartment building on Bisschoppenhoflaan, a human torso, an upper body without a head and limbs, was found by the occupant of one of the apartments on Friday evening. Since the lugubrious find, the murder investigation into the origin of the human remains has been running at full speed.
The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office will not communicate about the case for the time being, but according to our information, the identity of the victim – a woman – cannot yet be traced. Perhaps the autopsy will clarify that. An additional difficulty is that two important identification features, the fingerprints and the face/teeth are missing.

Prostitution environment
Without an identity, it is still a guess as to the motive for the murder and the environment in which it recognized itself. At the moment, the investigators are looking at the prostitution environment, among other things. Residents of the apartments above the cellars had earlier Gazette of Antwerp already testified that their basement was used by prostitutes and drug users.
Investigators were also still in the dark about where the woman was killed. The apartments in the vicinity were all examined by lab specialists last weekend. It is believed that the woman was killed not far from the cellar. Trace research must now show whether this happened in one of the apartments in the building on Bisschoppenhoflaan.
