Caen coach Stéphane Moulin back “to get back in the bath of life”
Since Sunday, Stéphane Moulin has returned to the training center at the Stade Malherbe de Caen in order to direct the work sessions of his team, currently 8th in Ligue 2. The Norman technician has retired since December 22, 2022 to stay with his very seriously ill wife, who died on 11 January.
For the occasion, he delivered his first feelings the newspaper West France of this Monday: “It’s still fresh but we have to live, we have to move forward. It was one of Armelle’s wishes. Today, we simply have to get back into the bath of life. There is a time for everything, first to experience the pain, then to get back on the path, for your personal balance. »
“I felt this desire to return to share my passion with the players, the staff”
Stéphane Moulin also deepened the reasons for his return to the front line with his players: “The foot is another part of my life and I was starting to miss it. I felt this desire to return to share my passion with the players, the staff. »
The Caennais coach wanted to deny the rumors that evoked his desire to resign: “It never crossed my mind. The only question I asked myself was how long it would take me to have the ability to transmit good energy. […] In the foot, I know that I will be also invested, determined, motivated. The land is my opium. I don’t want people to look at me differently. » He says to himself “strong enough to be considered the coach” that he always was. Stéphane Moulin returns to business after a very busy week. His team travels to Annecy on Tuesday (8:45 p.m.) and receives Bastia (8:45 p.m.) on Friday.
