A major power outage scheduled for Tuesday in intramural Avignon
It is possible that you will have no power this Tuesday if you live in Avignon intramural. Enedis will carry out a major intervention on a transformer near rue de la République which requires the electricity to be cut between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. in several streets including the main artery. Nearly 200 customers of the distributor will be concerned during this time slot.
Enedis claims to have no other choice. “These works are important since we are going to change in this station a medium voltage switchboard which was quite dilapidated. The aim is to guarantee a better supply of electricity to our customers”, specifies Emilie Blondel, the deputy director of Enedis in Vaucluse. Tuesday’s scheduled intervention will also be added to this transformer “a remote-controlled mechanical organ” which will allow remote control from Aix-en-Provence in the event of an electrical problem. A team will no longer be systematically sent to the field to repair a possible breakdown.
The streets concerned
In view of the importance of the work, “it was impossible to do otherwise”, admits Emilie Blondel. The deputy director of Enedis in Vaucluse insists on consultations with individuals and professionals in the sectors concerned. “We have been looking to perform this intervention since May 2022”she indicates.
