11,000 police officers will be mobilized in France, announces Gérald Darmanin in Marseille
Eleven thousand police and gendarmes will be mobilized everywhere in France this Tuesday, including 4,000 in Paris, to supervise the demonstrations against the pension reform, announced this Monday in Marseilles the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin.
“It is 1,000 additional police and gendarmes“compared to the day of demonstrations on January 19, said the minister on the sidelines of his trip to Marseille, at the police station in the 8th arrondissement. The minister also hopes that the protests will take place”under the same conditions without serious incident” than the previous mobilization.
“It is a message of firmness that I pass but also of great democratic concern (for) that the French who can be able to manifest themselves“in”good conditions“thanks to”a very significant presence of the forces of order (…) because the number obviously makes the security of the processions“, he indicated.
The Minister also warned that people who”would attack the police and the gendarmes, the other demonstrators, the property, will be arrested“, while welcoming the **good understanding with the trade unions which “**Play the game (…) I salute their spirit of responsibility“.
