In the third set, it was again an even battle, until the score was 10:10. After that, Karlovy Vary bet on service and ten decided the win 25:16. However, the Lions mobilized their volleyball power in the fourth set and, thanks to their aggressiveness in the field and excellent service, took the set to a 25-20 win. A tie-break came to the show, in which luck this time favored the side of the Lions, who won by a score of 15:13.
“We were a little bit better in the game, but we couldn’t win with that much speed. We faced excellent service, but there were really too many aces,” Karlovy Vary coach Jiří Novák alluded to the twelve aces served by the team from the capital. Karlovy Vary thus had to suffer its third defeat, which started a demanding fortnight, during which it will play four matches.
