The Labor government is deceitful – Bernard Grech
The Labor government is a deceitful one, said Sunday the leader of the PN Bernard Grech.
While he was addressing a political activity, Grech said that despite the government’s allocation of €700 million for green projects, “later they (the labor government) said that it is not fully preserved for that alone”.
“Peace of mind” is very important, he said.
Grech said that when he was younger, under a nationalist government there was always “peace of mind” because all he had to worry about as a student was whether he had petrol for his car to get to the university or whether he would take it. good grades during his school year.
“The basic things in this country are missing”, he said
Grech said that at the moment, the country cannot provide any peace of mind to anyone as basic things like antibiotics are out of stock, even from the state hospital.
In addition, he said that some patients who are waiting for the operation “are told after three to four hours that they can leave because all the medical operating rooms are occupied.”
The Head of the PN said that some people even had to turn to the Malta Community Chest Fund to get their hands on the medicines because of the costs, “however this should not be the case.” He added that although there is nothing wrong with asking for help from the Community Chest Fund, people should not be referring to it for basic needs as it should be the government that looks after and provides care for its citizens.
Regarding national security, Grech said that the lack of security in Malta is not the fault of the police, but of the government.
While mentioning the police force, he said that it is in a very desperate state considering that some of them left just two years before completing their 25 years of service, before taking their pension.
“I will be honest about the security of this country and say that it is not the fault of the police, but the fault of the leader, which gives a sense of impunity as if you know a minister you can also request the removal of a sentence from the court system to not show”, he said.
He added that whoever “has money and is a criminal under this government can have peace of mind assured” but “what is that fair and honest citizens who respect the law?”
Grech explained that this is where the PN comes in “to work not only to ensure the best for the country, but also to give peace of mind in the solutions it provides”.
“Many are finding it difficult to consider politics as hope, since the government is not keeping its promises” he said.
While mentioning Mosta, where works are currently underway, Grech said that the Labor government first “starts digging, then holds consultations and ignores people’s complaints”.
He said that people’s complaints should not be ignored and that a consultation should have been done before starting any works.
“Decisions must be made in the best interest of the nation, several projects must be carried out, but not without a plan, and they must be sustainable”.
To conclude, referring to the recent amendments to the criminal code currently in progress, he said that peace of mind should not only be present for those who “live now” but also for future generations, those who have yet to are born “how we value the unborn child. together with that of their mother, but never of their lives”.
