Růsk’s best match in Sigma, praised Jílek. For Chytila v Vaněček?
So how about that point gain?
“I would say it in two words: a healthy point. And deserved in my opinion. I am aware that in the end Sparta could have won the victory, but I still have the feeling that in the context of the whole game we were a bit better team. The reason why we did not finish the match to a winning end was the solution of the final and final phase and in a way efficiency. I remember three shooting attempts at the goal post after a bounced ball, at least one shot must at least threaten the goalkeeper, but we managed to get to the xth line… Sparta is a quality opponent, we will certainly win, but I still have the feeling that the team did their absolute best and I would like a three-point reward.’
Opponent coach Brian Priske praised your tactical preparation and midfield. Can you tell me what your plan was?
“If we want to succeed with Sparta, it’s a matter of organizing the game. This is absolutely key. We don’t have different players with technical individual quality like Sparta, on the other hand I have to say that they surprised us too. We expected a much greater level of construction, gameplay, especially in the first half. it contains a good read of us as an opponent, as they were probably aware of our good aggressive pressing. In addition, the pitch is not in perfect condition, so they did not want to avoid it. Our plan was also based on the fact that we don’t want to rush ourselves unnecessarily. We also expected the aggressiveness and high-pressing behavior of the Spartan players. That’s why we wanted to get the two sixes a little lower in the passing game, take out their sixes and get into the space where Mojmír Chytil and Tonda Růsek were supposed to collect the balloons together.”
But that’s not all…
“We saw in the preparation that Sparta had problems with the ball behind the defense. There was a space where the hitters were getting pulled up a lot. It worked, both Mojmír and Tonda get there very well. But the fact that it was a relatively brisk match did not result in a large number of scoring opportunities thanks to the preparation of both teams.”
Did you want to play after Sörensen’s replacement through the young Patrik Vydra?
(nods head) “Yeah, we communicated about that. Until then, three league starts, we also saw him in training. When we wanted to play a long ball, it was not the initial intention that it was going to Sörensen. He is great in aerial combat. However, with the arrival of Vydra, we wanted to change that and push into him more to put him under pressure and in a difficult situation. But I don’t think he can’t do it.’
Antonín Růsek was the best player of the match, do you agree?
“Absolutely. For me, Tonda played the best performance of his tenure here. It just confirms our words and perception of that player. Little by little, he is getting to the position where we wanted him and where we thought he would be first. Now it has clearly confirmed it. In the number of matches played, but also in the difference in behavior around the attacking goal. He was able to get out of a one-on-one, break away, create an opportunity. From the right side, they remember two situations in the second half when he got rid of the defender perfectly and passed in front of the goal. Excellent performance. I praise the team, but Tonda stood out.’
What’s the best thing about it? First touch?
“From the first moment, he fulfilled the fact that he can seal the first balloons very well. His shooting efficiency in training is also related to this. He can hit the ball and handle the situation well technically. In addition, this time he was also able to temper the first touch, that he stretched the opponent on himself, and then I got out of the situation very well with the second touch. He doesn’t hold the field, so when the running back went behind him on the first down, he was able to break away from it. It worked out for him, I’m glad for that. I just hope that he will maintain his performance, confirm it or even increase it to the maximum.”
However, he “only” takes an assist, couldn’t we get more?
“The truth is that he wasn’t in pre-goal situations, there were others. This time he was creating a serve. When you have two strikers, it usually happens that Tonda gets more in the center of gravity and to the side. He could have had more assists as he sent two great balls to the first post. It’s a shame, more could have been made of it.’
Why did you change Russia? Didn’t he have more power than Catch?
“He didn’t have to. It was prepared that Mojmír would resign due to cramps, but we communicated with each other at the bench. He said it was OK, took the magnesium and finished the game. On the contrary, Tonda said about the rotation.”
And isn’t it limiting that you don’t have another player on the bench? David Vaněček was missing again…
“He was supposed to start today and play some minutes for the B team, but after training for the artist, he felt his knee a bit, so we spared him. And we didn’t think about it towards Sparta, we still feel a handicap on the game side. It is not a matter of a fortnight or a month for me to get ready and be able to help the team. It is absolutely crucial for us – and we talked about it together – that we have him 100% ready for the summer, should Mojmír Chytil eventually leave. We will do our best. Maybe it will be in April, May… We are not putting any pressure on him. And on the bench we still have Zlatan (Tomáš Zlatohlávek), who we perceive as a player in a leading position. That’s where he will do the most work and will also meet the demands of the press.”
How did you like Pavel Zifčák in the unconventional position of right wingback?
“I would say that he managed it very well, although over time I could feel him going down a bit technically due to the fitness demands. But there was more or less no problem on his part.’
In addition, Jan Navrátil scored a beautiful goal from her…
“In preparation, he didn’t quite manage to solve the goal situation, but before the match I told Honzík that he would score a goal. I’m glad it came true. (smile) On the other hand, it must be admitted that he should have handled two or three situations better. We should have played it all the way to the end, but it didn’t work out. Then he was disappointed that we replaced him earlier, but we were hoping for a greater level of playfulness from Filip Zorvan. He showed very good things in training, but again we lost a bit of running activity and speed. There was a passage when Sparta pushed us into a deep block for ten minutes. Without a chance, but that was not the intention.”
You didn’t even want to replace Navrátil at halftime if he didn’t score a goal in the set-up?
“I was thinking about it. (smile) But we are used to talking to players, after the end of the match he told us that in the second half he was drawn into the game in a different way, the goal helped him. Not always the coach’s decision is good, but after a while we decided to put Zorvan there. I have to say that we didn’t get much out of it, we had break situations or individual actions of Mojmír and Tonda, but no strength in the break at all.
Don’t you expect more from Denise Ventura?
“It is necessary to accept that Denis played the first sharp match after a very long time – and precisely against Sparta. We know where his qualities are. In the long term, we see him as a difference player in training. He hasn’t shown it yet. It was a standard match against Sparta, we have even higher expectations.”
When the goal was conceded, there were a few mistakes, but they could have been easily removed, you see?
“Definitely a very cheap goal, even after the good start. It was the first situation, not even a dangerous action because we had it covered. Haraslín jumped out of the line, he had a very good performance in the first phase, but he can’t get past Poky (Jakub Pokorný) so easily. At the moment when this happens, Vrašťa (Lukáš Vraštil) has to take two or three steps towards him at twenty meters to change his shooting angle. It did not happen. And I’m not entirely sure if Čvančar’s shot wasn’t partially catchable.”
Haraslín managed to beat Pokorný even in a penalty situation…
“Stoppers play in a line of five, so when the opponent plays with three strikers, it becomes difficult to get up higher. There are holes around our top six, so that was by design. Even in that goal situation, he behaved correctly at first, but then I have to stop moving. You can’t get away with it that easily. It was a thing that stemmed from the fact that we made the boys aware of the necessary activity. But we lack the level of experience to finish it at a higher quality.”
Weren’t you nervous about some of Trefil’s forays into the centers?
“It’s not easy, there were an awful lot of standards. I always tell Lovas (goalkeeping coach Tomáš Lovásik) that the goalkeeper will respect himself when he pulls down balls that are fifty-fifty. From the coach’s position, I don’t like it when the goalkeeper goes for it, it looks good, but he just pushes it in front of him and the opponent collects another threat from it. The idea is to collect more balloons straight from the air, but I am aware that it is often not easy for the goalkeeper. But there is definitely room for improvement.”
