How realistic is black and green for Berlin?
The Greens in Berlin report behind closed doors that they too would like to force the SPD out of government.

Berlin CDU top candidate Kai Wegner has a problem: his party has been leading in polls for weeks, ahead of the close competition from the SPD and the Greens. But there are serious doubts that if he wins the election he will also become the future governing mayor of Berlin.
Wegner and the CDU lack the clear power option, the natural coalition partner. The CDU leader has been looking all the more for months to be close to the Berlin Greens.
Wegner is only too happy to report to a small group about his good relationship with Green Party leader Werner Graf. He occasionally discusses the possibilities of an alliance with the top Greens from the left wing of the party over a beer or schnapps, as they say.
The cooperation between parties in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Schleswig-Holstein and, since 2022, also in North Rhine-Westphalia across legislative periods shows that there is a foundation on which an alliance can be built.
