AMSTERDAM (ANP) – Dressage rider Dinja van Liere has won the Freestyle at Jumping Amsterdam, which counts for the World Cup. She received a record score of 87.055 percent from the jury for the test with her stallion Hermes in a sold-out RAI.

It was the second victory of this season in Mechelen for Van Liere, who is certain to participate in the World Cup final in April in Omaha, USA.
On the right track
“I am very, very happy”, said Van Liere, “Hermes thought so well yesterday in the Grand Prix. And today he was really ‘on fire’. I am very proud that he is getting better. I had the score of Isabell saw and thought: “It’s not going to work to improve that. But Hermes was fantastic, I rode it really well and we had no mistakes. The crowd was really great. It really broke me when I left the track and they the benches were standing. That was really a wow feeling.”
Hans Peter Minderhoud (Dream Boy) took second place with 81.970 percent, Emmelie Scholtens (Desperado) rode to seventh place with 81.640 percent.
Met with confidence
National coach Alex van Silfhout was very enthusiastic about the performance of the Dutch. “I am confident about the summer. We had five combinations at the start here and four of them had a score above 80 percent and one against 80 percent. Then we can be very satisfied at the moment.”
