Toulouse establishes Juan Cruz Mallia at the opening against Montpellier
Deprived of Romain Ntamack, Antoine Dupont and Thomas Ramos, Stade Toulousain has decided to entrust the position of number 10 to its Argentinian international Juan Cruz Mallia against Montpellier, this Sunday evening (9:05 p.m.), to Ernest-Wallon.
Deprived of eight of its internationals requisitioned for the Six Nations Tournament, including three incumbent candidates for the opening (Romain Ntamack, Antoine Dupont and Thomas Ramos), Stade Toulousain has decided to entrust the position of 10 to the Argentinian international Juan Cruz Mallia, who had already been used as such during the match in Bayonne in the middle of autumn.
This is the only originality of the Toulouse line-up which also looks good despite the absences. Released from selection midweek, winger Mathis Lebel will start, while flanker François Cros will still have to make do with a folding seat as a substitute. Center Pierre-Louis Barassi is not even on the sheet, which gives a small glimpse of the depth of the red and black squad, especially behind. Also note the tenure of Selevasio Tolofua in 8 and the big comeback in the 23 of the Argentinian center Santiago Chocobares.
The MHR, who has revenge to take after the first leg, at the desired outcome he lost with a breath at home (17-19)will be deprived of his scrum half Léo Coly, returned from the preparatory stadium of the Blues in Capbreton (Landes) with a tear in the thigh, and of his internationals Paul Willemse and Mohamed Haouas, who remained in selection.
The shortage of the second line notably forced the Hérault staff to drag the flanker and captain Yacouba Camara to the position of number 4. Note also the presence of the South African Jan Serfontein in the center alongside the amazing Thomas Darmon.
