This meeting between ASPTT Caen and Granville was a shock from the top of the table in the Regional 1 championship. The spectators had the right to a great football match with a PTT team very comfortable on its synthetic but also Granvillais who were looking to play despite a defined match scenario.
A good first half
The Postmen got into their game very well. They monopolized the ball. From the 15th minute, the Yellow and Black opened the score following a cross from Antoine Liard. Alex Quitté headed into a duel with the Granville goalkeeper, who scored a more than debatable goal against his side. This seemed to be marred by a fault on the one-armed doorman (1-0, 15′).
The Granvillais were far from abdicating. They were very close to coming back when the recovery of Pierre-Antoine Legrand fled the frame. During this first act, the midfield trio (Lecacheux, Hamel, Gervais) largely dictated the rhythm of the match and painted us some very nice moves. In the 30th minute, Thibaut Le Masson saved his people while Kimmakon went alone on goal, he stopped the Granville striker with a saving tackle.
A few minutes later, the match took another turn when US Granville was reduced to ten following a foul by Romain Perez, while Manu Surinam went alone on goal (40′). The Postmen were not far from doubling the bet on the free kick following the red card, but the ball touched the post. At the very end of the first period, Alex Quitté received a marvelous ball from Julien Gervais and scored twice (2-0, 46′). It was then difficult to see how the Penguins could return to this match.
An Alex leaves great evenings
In numerical superiority, the players of Laurent Dufour controlled practically all this second period. The Granville resident Jérémi Kimmakon, accustomed to National 2 championship games, struggled on the front of the visitor attack, in vain… the rear guard kept watch.
On top of that, Alex Quitté was not satisfied with having been decisive twice. In the 70th minute, he won his aerial duel against Malo Mathurin and went alone on goal. Altruistic, he offered a but all done to Théo Burnouf (3-0, 70′). In the last quarter of an hour, Alex Quitté, again him, shot Théo Darius the doorman from Granville, with an overpowered strike in order to afford a double (3-0, 78′).
+4 on Deauville, +7 on Flers
Laurent Dufour’s men won a very important match in the race for the climb, the Granvillais saw themselves suffer a heavy defeat while the Penguins had made a good impression before being reduced to ten.
Thanks to this success, ASPTT Caen keeps a four-point lead over AST Deauville, which is in second place in the standings. Flers, third, is seven lengths after his draw against the B of Saint-Lô.

The carriage corner
Laurent Dufour (ASPTT Caen coach): “We got into the game well. We had put things in place to prevent them from playing. It’s a team with a lot of good players. We were very efficient in pressing and in controlling the game. Little by little, we felt that the opportunities were coming. The first but is a little happy but it turned out to validate our good match start. Afterwards, we had to continue to move forward, to put on the intensity because as soon as we relaxed, we felt that we could be in difficulty. It’s a great victory, I’m happy with this recovery. »
Jérôme Arnaud (US Granville 2 coach): “We came across a great team, we were afraid to play at times. We returned some balls too quickly in the first half. They didn’t need to be given ammo to win. Maybe I wasn’t good enough in the approach to the game. But we learn … It’s only a defeat, in quotes. »
