Stade Malherbe conceded a loser ahead of Laval, this Saturday (0-0). The words of the coaches.
Patrice Sauvaget, Caen coach: “We are disappointed with the result, in accordance, by the domination and the number of chances that we have created. This is our room for improvement. We did not have this little boost, this small success to convert a situation. On our big highlight at the start of the second half, we have to make the difference. We don’t do it. We continue to attack. We did it the right way but we couldn’t force the lock. In the first half, we didn’t set enough pace, we didn’t play fast enough. We struggled to find solutions. It was better in the second half.
Olivier Frapolli, Laval coach: “I’m happy with the way the game looked. It was one of our goals to be more reliable, more solid in this return phase. To take a point against a team from Caen which is launching an interesting dynamic is a good result. It was sometimes a little limited, especially at the start of the second half, but we could have made the perfect hold-up. Their goalkeeper made an exceptional save with his fingertips. I think we could have played a bit more in sequences. I had little crack in the second half, then we managed to regain the upper hand. We expected this type of scenario. »
