Debrecen won a confident victory with the man advantage
Debrecen, playing football with the man advantage for the most part, won a three-goal victory over the visiting Zalaegerszeg. The home team thus overtook its rival in the standings and climbed to fifth place. ZTE suffered its second defeat in a week.
In the sixth round, in Zalaegerszeg, the two teams played a high-scoring match, and the start also foreshadowed this. After the quick domestic goal, the audience could see an open helmet battle, opportunities arose on both sides, Dzudzsák once shot the ball into the goalkeeper in a clear position, but Megyeri also had something to defend. As time went on, the pace decreased, and during a counterattack in Debrecen, when Mocsi pushed Sós inside the 16-yard box, referee Káprály awarded 11 and showed the player from Zalaegerszeg a red card. At first, the decision seemed too strict, but after the video referee confirmed it, the home team doubled their advantage with Dzuzdzák’s converted penalty, and the guests lost.
After the break, a big defensive mistake was used well – Kálnoki-Kis, who was trying to break free, didn’t hit the ball in front of him – Debrecen further increases its advantage, thus ending the match. In the continuation, the game was typically played in the field, no more goals were scored.

Penalties, goalkeeper error and a draw in Kisvárda
Last season’s silver medalist Kisvárda played a 2-2 draw with Paks at home. In the meeting, both teams conceded a penalty, but Hindrich Ottó, the goalkeeper of the home team, made a big mistake before the whistle, as a result of which Paks scored a point. Kisvárda is winless in three matches in the series, while Paks’ away winless streak now counts four matches.
In the first domestic half, the team possessed more of the ball, and its dominance on the field proved ineffective. Kisvárda got to the post twice and once to the last goal, but the team from Paks took the lead by selling a penalty awarded due to an unfortunate move. According to the official statistics, the team from Tolna had this one shot on goal until the break, which allowed them to take the lead.
After the turn, the team fought with great momentum for the equalizer, which reached a penalty after a free-kick combination, as the visiting defender reached the ball with his hand raised while sliding in. Jasmin Mesanovic calmly converted the penalty, and after that Paks continued the match with a more attacking approach. After a corner from Kisvárda at the start of the period, Ötvös came to his senses the fastest and took the goal of the rival from close range, so the home team turned the score of the match. However, the twists and turns were not over yet, as in the first minute of extra time, the Várda goalkeeper reacted badly to Skribek’s pass from the left, and the ball bounced into the net between his legs.
