HC Innsbruck is looking forward to an important comeback! – Hockey-News.info – All news about national and international ice hockey
HC TIWAG Innsbruck will start hunting for points again tomorrow. Dario Winkler celebrates his comeback against Olimpija.
For the Tyroleans it is important against Olimpija to get the disappointment about the 3:6 defeat in the Tyrolean derby against Bozen out of their heads. “We were the better team for 50 minutes, implemented our plan 1-1, and then threw away our success with individual mistakes. We have to win these games, especially in the playoffs, where exactly such opponents will be waiting,” says a visibly disappointed Thomas Mader. Of course, a win tomorrow would boost self-confidence”: “This time we will try to show our game for 60 minutes in order to get the three points in the end. That would be immensely important,” says Mader.
Again with Winkler
One of the Haie team is really dying for tomorrow’s party. Striker Dario Winkler celebrates his comeback after almost two months (concussion in the game against Salzburg in early December). “The last few weeks haven’t been easy, I’m really happy to be back,” said Winkler. Now the #38 wants to get back into rhythm as quickly as possible: “There are still six games left in the regular season, that should be enough time to get back on track. I definitely want to pick up where I left off before the injury,” says Dario Winkler, who has 20 points in his 24 games this season.
Statistics speak for Innsbruck
The signs for a Haie victory in Ljubljana are not bad. The last seven games against Olimpija went to the Haie, as did the previous three duels this season. In addition, the Slovenians have a real negative run. Olimpija are ranked 12th having lost 14 of their last 16 games. Also under the new head coach Antti Karhula there was a 4-1 defeat in Graz yesterday. But Olimpija shouldn’t be underestimated, because the Slovenians are almost doomed to win against the Haie if they want to have a chance of making the top 10 and thus maintaining a place in the pre-playoffs.
