Drunk driver rams parked Maserati: several crash pilots cause damage | Antwerp
AntwerpOn the Kapelsesteenweg, near Ekeren, the drunk driver of a van hit two parked cars. Then his car overturned. According to witnesses, the 27-year-old driver left the scene of the accident even later, which the police prevented him from. He was allowed to hand over his driver’s license immediately.
The van and one of the parked cars, an expensive Maserati, must be picked up. However, this man was not the only one who broke into pieces in recent days after looking a little too deep into the glass. For example, a vehicle rammed a pole of the tram line on the Mechelsebrug in Berchem on Saturday morning. After the accident, the car caught fire and the fire brigade had to intervene. The 34-year-old driver was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. His car was badly damaged and had to be towed. Of course there was also disruption to tram traffic.
And on the Bisschoppenhoflaan in Deurne, as a team of the mobile unit, a car drove into the vehicle behind him when leaving the parking lot. The 52-year-old man was found to be heavily under the influence of alcohol. He did not have his driver’s license in his pocket, and therefore could not immediately hand it over, but he was banned from driving.
