ANPR cameras in Pentagon activated | BRUZZ
The ANPR cameras that must check whether road users comply with the rules of the Good Move circulation plan within the Pentagon have been activated. Fines will not be collected immediately: a warning period will follow first.
The ten ANPR cameras are even known, but were only activated at the end of last week, writes La Derniere Heure. Initially, the cameras were supposed to go into effect at the end of November, but the deadline was shared to allow people who can get an exemption, it’s better to be informed.
In between, the cabinet of Brussels aldermen of Mobility Bart Dhondt (Groen) confirmed to the newspaper that the cameras were activated. Anyone who works through a traffic filter with an ANPR camera without a permit does not immediately risk an administrative sanction (GAS fine) of 58 euros.
“First there will be a warning period,” said Dhondt. Those who currently do not respect the circulation plan will receive a summary in which that person will be consumed for destruction, but for the time being without penalty.
The inspection phase is activated. But this probably won’t happen until mid-February. Illuminated signs can still be placed at the locations of the cameras to additionally accept motorists.
