A dive into the monuments of the Gardens of the Royal Villa of Monza Park in the evocative atmosphere, between music and lights
The atmosphere around the 2nd Reale Mutua Monza Night Trail, recreational-motor event that will take place on Saturday evening May 6, 2023, organized by the Monza Marathon Team Asd and the Villa Reale and Monza Park Consortium. Protagonists i Gardens of the Royal Villa of Monza who are preparing to welcome 1500 runners chasing about 10 km long thrills, but which will remain indelible in the mind. The organizers are in fact working to expand and make it even more suggestive i plays of light that will illuminate the monuments of Monza Park, a magic amplified by the musical notes that will spread throughout the night thanks to the collaboration with the Zucchi music high school in Monza.
THE FIRST TWO MONUMENTS – You are i monuments of historical-artistic interest that they will be dressed in light and music and that runners will encounter along the way: Villa Mirabellino, Villa Mirabello, Mulino del Cantone, Cascina Pariana, Torretta Viscontea and Tempietto Neoclassico, before reaching the finish line in Villa Reale.
VILLA MIRABELLINO – Built in 1776 by the architect Giulio Galliori, Villa Mirabellino it was born to accommodate the literary guests of Cardinal Durini, as an annex of the adjacent Villa Mirabello, before being donated to the wife of the viceroy Eugenio Beauharnais Augusta Amalia of Wittelsbach, hence renamed”Villa Augusta“. The Mirabellino faces Villa Mirabello, to which it is connected through an avenue of hornbeams and of which it mirrors the model of the lower and upper Belvedere in Vienna. The facade has two side pillars and two central Doric columns, a cross vault, frescoed with floral and geometric motifs.
VILLA MIRABELLO – The second monument that runners will visit along the route is Villa Mirabello. Wanted by the Durini family, the villa is the most ancient of all the buildings that exist today in the Monza Park and owes its name to its particularly pleasant position. He was often one of the literate frequenters of Cardinal Durini Joseph Parinia period which was followed by expropriation by Napoleon that I decided to endow it with a vast park. Villa Mirabello features an elegant portico with pink granite columns Inside a central hall and eight reception rooms, before accessing the upper floors where the frescoes of Federico Bianchi And Hercules Procacciniauthor of “The Nativity of the Virgin”.
Both Villas had the aim of creating a serene environment conducive to study and culture, in close contact with nature. An attractive novelty of this second edition is that runners will run across the Party Hall of Villa Mirabello, a room of particular beauty with a red and white marble balustrade and frescoes of famous Italian poets and famous scientists.
