SYRIZA is not an opposition party in New Democracy but in Greece
“The motion of no confidence tabled by the official opposition does not concern the government, but the existential problems of SYRIZA and its inability to contain its own people,” said the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, from the floor of the Parliament during the debate on the motion of no confidence tabled by Alexis Tsipras.
He also emphasized that another defeat awaits SYRIZA and addressing the MPs of the official opposition party, he said “another defeat awaits you, another four years in the seats of the opposition”.
He accused SYRIZA, that it has no proposals neither in the economy nor in government and wishes to create impressions. The KKE, he added, has ruled out possible cooperation with SYRIZA, so you remain without an alternative proposal in the elections. He added that the country needs a firm hand at the helm of governance and expressed the opinion that New Democracy will win the elections.
Regarding immigration, Mr. Theodorikakos said that the German Spiegel apologized for the Evros case, but SYRIZA still hasn’t. He cited opposition figures who have denounced the fence, saying it violates international law.
“After the Amitito there are no borders, as Tsipras said, now the official opposition, which tells us that there are no borders even in Evros. This is not opposition in New Democracy but in Greece”.
The Minister of Citizen Protection underlined that the guarding of the borders and the protection of human life are prerequisites, mentioning the incident where they were rescued from torrential waters thanks to the timely intervention of the Authorities.
Mr. Theodorika, referred to the work of the Ministry of Citizen Protection and underlined that several of the occupied buildings were freed, criminal organizations in the student residences were dismantled, he gave a special basis to the structures and the protection framework in cases of domestic violence. He emphasized that the government achieved the goals it had set for the economy. Regarding the Police, Mr. Theodorikakos emphasized that they are standing by and there is a daily struggle to strengthen protection in the neighborhoods.
