New production manager at Salten N950: – I have worked with food all my life
Morten Svendsen is employed as production manager at Salten N950, the company writes in a press release. Svendsen comes from a position as production manager in the Stryhns group in Denmark, but will now lead production at the salmon slaughterhouse on Sørarnøy.
Salten N950 AS employed last harvest new daily manager with Roy-Tore Rikardsen. Rikardsen then took over the helm from Johan-Edvard Andreassen, who has been daily manager since the start-up in the early 90s. Now the company has hired a new production manager.
– I have worked with salmon all my life, but so far it has been best to work with salmon here in Norway. With a brand new salmon slaughterhouse, it is easy to see opportunities, says Svendsen in the press release.
– Bred experience
Svendsen has worked for several years in dairy production in Norway and Denmark, and switched to working with aquaculture in 2010. He has worked there for over ten years with both salmon feed, fish oil and salmon farming. After a stay back in Denmark, the trip went north again, this time to Salten N950 on Sørarnøy.
– Morten has a wide range of experience and knows what it takes to succeed. The fact that we already have a high focus on hygiene and quality is crucial for us when we have to carry out assignments on behalf of our customers, says Roy-Tore Rikardsen, general manager at Salten N950, in the press release.
– Good reception
Morten Svendsen moved to Sørarnøy in mid-January, and is in his first month as production manager. Svendsen himself says that he is used to moving in order to live there and work, and has a good knowledge of the coastline in northern Norway.
– It has been well received so far, and I hope to become well known to those who live and work here. I have always lived in the district, but I experience this as relatively central. The island is close to everything, both if you like outdoor life or if you want to go to Bodø, which is only 40 minutes away by boat, Svendsen elaborates.
